Mary Lee (Winesett) Combs

Mary Lee Winesett Combs, 100, of Fayetteville, NC passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, June 13, 2024.

She was born November 9, 1923, in Hillsville, Virginia (Coulson Co) to the late Oscar B. and Bessie Landreth Winesett.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ruben E. Combs, a daughter, Joan Combs Raynor, son-in-law, Laurice Raynor, Sr., six sisters, one brother, and three grandchildren, Kimberly Raynor Steedley, Philip and Renee Colston.

She was a Christian wife, mother, teacher and friend and served as a Volunteer at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Mary was a long-time member of Lafayette Baptist Church.

Mary is survived by son, Michael Combs and wife, Dianne of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Brian, Scott, and Laurice Raynor, Jr.; great grandchildren, Emily Combs Vargas and husband, Dillon Vargas, Richard West and wife, Katie, Alexis Colston; and great great grandson, Nolan West.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Lafayette Baptist Church starting at 11am with funeral following at 12 noon, with Dr. Kevin Moore and Steve Branch officiating  Burial will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey Street
