Mildred Marie (Jones) Johnson

Mildred Jones Johnson, 93, of Fayetteville passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at her residence surrounded by her family. 

Mildred was born October 2, 1932, in Harnett County to Higgs Sherwood Jones and Mary Grace Cook Jones.  She worked at the Diana Shop in downtown Fayetteville and at FTCC and Cumberland County Schools.  She enjoyed camping and being a mother and grandmother to her family.

She is predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Wilbur D. Johnson; brothers Fred, Charles, and Sherwood Jones; sister, Jenny Jackson; and son-in-law, Phil Johnson.

She is survived by daughter, Barbara Johnson of Fayetteville; sons, Jeffrey Darnell Johnson (Aundrea) of Fayetteville and Jonathan Robert Johnson (Carolyn) of Salisbury, NC; grandchildren, Brad, Christopher, Aaron, David, Jacob, Ethan, Kaitlyn, and Brian; great grandchildren, Alayna, Sofia, Jack Henry, Amelia, and Reece; and a host of friends and family whom she dearly loved,

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 7, 2026, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home followed by Funeral services in the Jernigan-Warren Chapel at 11:45 am.  Burial will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park.
