Mildred McClellan Obituary

Mildred Darby McClellan, 89, the Matriarch of the McClellan family, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, April 25, 2023, at her home with her family by her side.

Mildred was born December 7, 1933, in Blodgett, MO., to W.C. and Bessie Darby. She was the longtime secretary of Faymont Baptist Church and Senior Adult Coordinator. She was also the secretary and part owner of MC’s Cabinets, the family-owned custom cabinet business.

Mildred is preceded in death by a son, Harold McClellan and grandson, Jonathan McClellan.

Mildred is survived by her husband, the love of her life for 72 years, Max “Bud” McClellan; 3 children, Max McClellan, Jr. and Donna, David McClellan and Charmayne, Dana McClellan and Karen, and Della McClellan, wife of Harold McClellan. Mildred and Bud have been blessed beyond measure with grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Their grandchildren listed in order with their family below; Max III and Kristina (Mikylee, Craven); Jeff and Melonie Rumler (Danielle, Macy, Paisley); Matthew and Rae (Gavin, Ava, Wyatt); Christopher and Kaira (Isabella, Rachael, Christopher); Stephen and Kristi (Karalynn, Kaci); Kyle and Jessica (Levi, Lillia); Luke and Christina (Emerson); Sam (Leah); Kendall (Easton). Their great-great grandchildren, Malik and Zeke.

Mildred was a devoted and faithful wife to Bud and a loving and compassionate mother to her children. She was passionate about her service to the Lord and her family. She always made it a priority to be present at momentous occasions for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was supportive and encouraging to all.

The family will receive friends from 11 am to 1 pm on Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Faymont Baptist Church, 3663 Cumberland Rd., Fayetteville, NC, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 1 pm at the Church.  Entombment will follow at Cumberland Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
