Mildred "Toni" (Mitchem) Thomas

Mildred M. “Toni” Thomas, 97, of Cherryville, NC, and formerly of Fayetteville, NC, passed away on August 4, 2024.   

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Pete Thomas; her son, Jerry Thomas; and her grandson, Brandon Nanney.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Jeff Thomas and wife, Bettie; daughter, Susan Hancock and husband, Chris; daughter, Sharon Nanney and husband, Rick; four grandchildren, Will Thomas and wife, Anna, Bryan Hancock, Heather Crocker and husband, Chris, Craig Thomas and wife, Krystan; six great grandchildren, Rose Thomas, Billie Thomas, Emmersyn Crocker, Avery Crocker, Bella Thomas and Abbie Thomas.  

Toni was a member of Johnson UMC for many years until they closed and joined Gardner UMC.  She belonged to the Red Hat Society and loved walking and working outside. 

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until 11:50 a.m. at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home, with a funeral service in the Chapel, beginning at 12:00 p.m.  A Committal service will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park.
