Nikki C. Carter

Nikki C. Carter, 50, of Fayetteville, North Carolina passed away peacefully in her home on October 9, 2024. She was born October 26, 1973, in Asheville, North Carolina.  

Nikki graduated from Cole High School, San Antonio, Texas, in 1992 and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration from Fayetteville State University.

Following graduation, Nikki pursued employment in the retail industry and accepted a position with Goody’s Department Store as an Assistant Manager.  She continued her career in the retail industry, sought and accepted positions with Forever 21 and later Big Lots, where she remained until her illness.

Nikki was preceded in death by her mother Valerie Hazleton Carter.  She is survived by her parents Edwin and Jacquette’ Carter, three sisters: Shana Carter, Tameka Mann, and Latisha Carter as well as brother, Edwin W. Carter, II and sister-in-law Jessica Carter.  Nikki is also survived by four nieces: Estes Smith, Kamia Smith, Siana Smith, and Imani Carter.

Nikki leaves behind boyfriend Anwar J. Underwood.  She also leaves to cherish her memory “The Muppets” (Mischa Smith, Cassandra Spivey, and Leekeisha Colvin), and devoted friend Jessica Smith, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members and friends.

Nikki was a beacon of love and kindness!  She will forever reside in our hearts as grapple with the loss of her physical presence.  We find solace in knowing that she was a child of God, and we will see her again when Jesus returns.

A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, October 14, 2024, in the Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park.
