Oscar Eduardo Larrea Rios

Oscar Eduardo Larrea Rios, 64, of Fayetteville, NC, passed Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Oscar was born December 10, 1959, in Lima, Peru, to Carlos Alberto Larrea Rondon and Rosa Esther Rios Rivas. 

His life motto was “patience and good attitude” and he made sure to teach it and instill it in his children, family and everyone who crossed his path.

Throughout his entire life he was praised in every organization he was part of and loved by every person he ever worked with. However, he dedicated most of his life to work for his beloved YMCA, touching countless people’s lives with his joy and charisma.

We, his family and friends, will remember him as a dedicated husband, a protective brother, the life of the party, and the best dad.

Oscar is survived by his wife, Karla Zuñiga Torres, his daughters, Arianna Larrea Zuñiga and Fatima Larrea Zuñiga, his sons, Jair Larrea Reyes, Alonso Larrea Reyes, Andre Larrea Zuñiga, his grandson Fabrizio Larrea Ruiz, and his brother Daniel Larrea Rios.

The family will receive friends on Monday, September 30, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.  A Funeral Mass will be conducted Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 1000 Andrews Rd., Fayetteville, NC 28311. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
