Peggy Tatem Chadwick

Peggy Tatem Chadwick, of Fayetteville, went to be with her Savior & celebrate her New Year early Saturday morning, January 1, 2022. Peggy was born June 12, 1929 to A.C. & Edna Tatem.

She graduated from Fayetteville High School, Class of 1947, & went on to obtain her R.N. from Wake Forest School of Medicine in 1951. Peggy's passion was caring for others.

She helped deliver the first baby at Cape Fear Valley Hospital when the doors opened in 1956. Peggy & her husband Calvin, worked & raised their two children while witnessing & serving their Lord through years of teaching Sunday School & community outreach.

In Peggy's later years she enjoyed using her nursing skills on overseas missions trips. She loved her family & most importantly her Heavenly Father.  Her life was a living testimony of His love.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Chadwick, her brother Rev. A.C. "Cecil" Tatem, & her daughter Marsha Chadwick Johnson.

Peggy leaves behind her son Rev. Stuart Val Chadwick & wife Sue of Bear Creek, son in law Robert Lamarr Johnson Jr., of Fayetteville, granddaughters Kelly Howerton, husband Richard & family of Sanford, Kristian Kelly & husband Chris of Fayetteville, & Hannah Johnson of Greensboro, great grandsons Devin Kelly & family, & Hayden Kelly, both of Fayetteville.

She will be laid to rest next to her husband Calvin in Cross Creek Cemetery.  Family will receive friends on Monday, January 3, 2022 at 2:00pm at Cross Creek Cemetery for a graveside service.
