Robert Edward Daniel, Sr.

Robert Edward Daniel, 87, of Fayetteville, died peacefully in his sleep on April 17, 2026, just one week before his 88th birthday.

Robert was born in Harnett County to Ollie Lee Daniel and Winnie Stewart Daniel. Robert graduated high school from Pine Forest High School.  

In 1957, Robert joined the United States Air Force as an Airpoliceman and then remained in the Air Force Reserves.  Robert went on to become a Firefighter in Morro Bay, CA. He married Phyllis Harbin in August 1961 with whom he had two boys, Robert Edward, Jr. and Christopher Wayne.

Robert returned with his family to Fayetteville NC and began his work with DuPont from which he would later retire after 26 years of service.  

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Alice Daniel, Oscar Daniel, William (Tink) Daniel, Oliver Curwood (OC) Daniel, Beatrice Daniel Barbour and Charlie Daniel.

He is survived by sister, AnnaLou Daniel Brock; sister-in-law, Marie Daniel; sons, Robert (Christa) and Chris; grandchildren, Jessica Daniel (Jeremy Jackson), Brittany Daniel (Tim Davis) and Robert Daniel III; and great-grandchildren, Jeremy, Ashton and Journey. 

A graveside funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM at Lafayette Memorial Park, 2301 Ramsey St and Hwy 401, Fayetteville, NC 28301.
