Robert Bryon Graham, 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Valley Hospice, surrounded by the love of his family.
Born on September 25, 1942, in Penns Grove, New Jersey, Robert was the son of the late Elmer Graham and Hilda Sarah Alcorn Graham. He grew up with a deep sense of devotion to his family, a trait that would define his life. Whether offering a helping hand or words of wisdom, he was always there for those he loved.
Robert had a lifelong passion for woodworking, particularly crafting festive yard art that brought joy to many during the holidays. He was also an avid birdwatcher and a dedicated genealogist, meticulously documenting the milestones of his family’s lives through heartfelt scrapbooks made for each child and grandchild. Known for his thoughtful advice—especially “Dad” and “Pop-pop” advice—Robert believed deeply in the power of a well-organized spreadsheet.
Robert was a proud member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, like many of his family. He was a sports enthusiast and a proud supporter of the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles. He also held a special place in his heart for the JSU Gamecocks, his alma mater. After graduating from Anniston High School, he earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting and business administration from Jacksonville State University in Alabama. He later enjoyed a long and respected career as a government auditor at Fort Bragg, retiring from Civil Service.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his beloved sister, Patricia Graham.
Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of 55 years, Ellen Suehs Graham; daughter, Allyson Michelle Graham Lee and husband Robert; bonus daughter, Laura Whittaker and husband Chris; and his adored grandchildren, Amelia Lee, Connor Lee, and Maggie Burnett. He also leaves behind a large extended family of cousins and many dear friends whose lives he touched.
A graveside service to honor Robert’s life will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at 3 p.m. at Lafayette Memorial Park.
Robert Graham will be remembered for his warmth, wisdom, humor, and steadfast love for his family. His legacy of care, creativity, and connection lives on in all who knew him.
