Ronnie Hart, Sr. Obituary

SFC (Ret.) Ronnie Lee Hart, Sr., 66, of Fayetteville, NC passed away on Monday, January 27, 2025.

Ronnie Lee Hart was born on September 17, 1958, in Pendleton, North Carolina, to the late Haily and Olivia Jacob. He grew up in North Hampton County, where he attended the local school system and graduated in 1976. Following his graduation, Ronnie chose a path of service, joining the military and beginning his journey at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.

Ronnie’s dedication led him to the esteemed 82nd Airborne Division, known as America's Guard of Honor. As part of this elite airborne infantry division of the United States Army, he specialized in joint forcible entry operations, demonstrating his commitment to defending his country. His military career took him to many places, including Hawaii, before his retirement.

A man of quiet demeanor who valued his privacy, Ronnie found strength and guidance in his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Though he did not proclaim it loudly, his faith was a steady presence in his life.

Outside of his service, Ronnie enjoyed fishing and playing golf, particularly tournament challenges. He cherished time spent with family and friends, often traveling to North Carolina, Louisiana, Virginia, and Florida to create lasting memories.

Ronnie was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Luvella Hart; and his older siblings, Evelyn (Freddie) Holman and Bobie Hart. His memory lives on through his beloved son, Ronnie Lee Hart Jr.; stepson, Dwayne Hart; stepdaughter, Denise Hart; devoted sisters, Ella (Charles) Hart-Hawkins of Portsmouth, VA, and Angela (Broderick) Coleman of Randleman, NC; cousin, Pearl Artis of Conway, NC; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will miss him dearly.

His legacy of service and love will be cherished by all who knew him.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 8, 2025, from 10 to 11am at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the Jernigan-Warren Chapel at 11 am with Military Honors.  A private burial will take place at a later date at Sandhillls State Veterans Cemetery in Spring Lake, NC.
