Rveda Marchant Faulkner, 90, of Fayetteville passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center with her family by her side.
She was born on October 25, 1931, in Jackson County, Florida to the late James Joseph Marchant and Gladys Justice Marchant. The family moved to Stedman when she was in her youth. She was a 1950 graduate of Stedman High School. In 1953 she graduated from Highsmith Rainey Nursing School as a registered nurse.
While a student nurse she met the love of her life, Reese Albert Faulkner and they were married on October 10, 1953. Rveda worked as Head Nurse on Third South at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center for many years and went on to work in 1974 at Fayetteville Area Health Education Center now known as SRAHEC.
Rveda was a long-time member of Victory United Methodist Church, a member of The Friendly Dozen Bingo Club, and a member of the Hope Mills Senior Club serving as president for over 20 years.
She loved life, she enjoyed being active and spending time with her family and friends. She had a love for all animals great and small. She was always rescuing those that needed help. She enjoyed feeding the wild birds in her yard and any stray cat or dog that came along. She felt God put them in her path for a reason.
Rveda was preceded in death by her husband, Reese A. Faulkner; her parents; brothers, Bill, Elmer, and Pete Marchant; sisters, Doris Noel and Lottie Marchant.
Left to cherish her loving memory are her daughters, Sharon Jernigan and husband Tommy, Donna Schulte and husband Dave, Pat Lindsey and husband Mike, Reesa Eastman and husband Wayne; 8 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Jerry Dunn and numerous nieces and nephews as well as her beloved dog Shadow and her many cats.
Funeral arrangements will be held on Monday, October 17, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Jernigan-Warren Chapel. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.
