Scott David Sowers, 51, of Fayetteville, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 22, 2025, at Valley Hospice House, with his family by his side.
Born on June 16, 1974, in Charlotte, North Carolina, Scott was the beloved son of Marsha Wiser Sowers and the late John William Sowers III. From an early age, Scott had a deep appreciation for music. A self-taught guitarist, he found joy and connection through playing in several bands over the years, sharing his passion with countless others.
Scott’s latest jobs were at Back-A-Round-Records and DaVille Skate Shop, places that combined his greatest loves: music, skating, and community. In addition to his musical talents, Scott had a lifelong passion for skateboarding. He took pride in his extensive skateboard collection and was known among friends for his dedication to the sport.
He was preceded in death by his father, John William Sowers III.
Scott is survived by his mother, Marsha Wiser Sowers; his sister, Devin Teele and her husband Barrett; and his nephew, Jackson Teele.
A gathering of friends to celebrate Scott’s life will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.
