Shelton C. Barefoot

Shelton C. Barefoot, 88, of Fayetteville, NC went to his heavenly home on Monday June 16, 2025, at his home. 

He was born January 31, 1937, in Johnston County, NC to Nelson C. and Ethel Parker Barefoot. 

Shelton served his country in the National Guard for 12 years and was self-employed in sales.  He enjoyed flying planes, motorcycles, cars and their restoration, sports to include water skiing, guns, and according him, he was a "Builder".   He was a member of Northwood Temple.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Shirley Mae Barefoot; daughter and son-in-law, Terry and Chuck Nowiski; son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Anita Barefoot; five grandchildren; one god-grandson; nine great grandchildren; and brother, Glen Barefoot.  He is predeceased by his grandson, Aaron Nowiski.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 20, 2025, from 11 am to 12 pm at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home with Funeral services following in the Jernigan-Warren Chapel at 12 pm.  Officiating will be his son, Rev. Roger Barefoot, Rev. John Hedgepeth, and Rev. Eddie Wood.  Burial will be at 1 pm at Lafayette Memorial Park.
