Shirley Ann (Strange) Stanley

Mrs. Shirley Ann Strange Stanley, 87, of Fayetteville, NC, died Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at her residence with her family by her side.

Shirley was born December 28, 1935, in Sumter, SC, to the late Dalcho Eugene Strange and Lila Mae Drose Strange. She was a homemaker. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Ira “Bo” Cordes Stanley.

Shirley lived a full life with many interests. She loved her family and always enjoyed them being together. She was an avid bridge player, a Duke basketball fan, a gardener, and volunteered for many years with the Juvenile Diabetes Association. She also loved her trips to Vegas with her family and her traveling buddies.

Shirley is survived by two sons, Dal Stanley (Joyce) of Fountain Inn, SC and Kal Stanley (Dorothy) of Florence, SC and a daughter, Cathy Stanley of Fayetteville, NC; grandchildren, Alan Stanley, Bryan Stanley, Caitlyn Phipps, Dalcho Phipps, and Kim Skipper; and great granddaughter Lila Page Skipper; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, David Eugene Strange and James “Jimmy” Wesley Strange, Sr.

A graveside service will be conducted on Monday, November 13, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Fort Liberty Main Post Cemetery.
