Slade Burton Lawson, III

Slade “Burton” Lawson, III, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025, at his home, with his mother by his side.

Burton was a lifelong resident of Fayetteville and a member of Snyder Memorial Baptist Church. He was a proud graduate of Terry Sanford High School and Campbell University.

For many years, Burton worked as a construction supervisor for Fayetteville Area Operation Inasmuch, where he found great purpose serving his community. Most recently, he was employed as an inspector for Harnett County, where his dedication and professionalism were deeply valued.

He was preceded in death by his father, Slade Burton Lawson, Jr. (Buddy); grandparents Slade and Jane Lawson and Clayton and Alma Simmons; aunts and uncles Betty L. Robinson, Ann B. Lawson, Richard Robinson, and Rev. Clayton B. Simmons.

Burton is survived by his loving mother, Barbara Ann Simmons Lawson; his brother, Christopher Bryant Lawson (Susanne Honeycutt); niece, Reese Royal Lawson. He is also survived by his uncle, Bob G. Lawson (Ann, deceased); aunts, V. Sue Strickland (Glenn) and Barbara T. Simmons (Clayton B. Simmons, deceased); cousins Cynthia L. Harding (Flint), Cheryl L. Ray (Hector), Tricia S. Honeycutt (Richard, deceased), Kris S. Hoyle, Jane Marie Robinson, Rich Robinson (Jennifer), Rose R. Collins (Bob), and Donna S. Dugan (Jim); and his dear friend, Hannah Olivera.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025, at Snyder Memorial Baptist Church at 3 P.M. The family will receive friends in the Gathering Hall from 2 until 2:45 P.M.
