Stanley Morris Betancourt, 89 Fayetteville North Carolina, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2026, surrounded by his family.
Stanley was born in St. Petersburg, Florida, June 11, 1936, to William McKinley Betancourt and Aletha Allen Betancourt. Stanley was an Air Force veteran. He taught motorcycle safety on Fort Bragg, NC. Later in life, he learned the art of gemology and jewelry making, which led to him and Carmen starting their business at the flea market, Majestic, Jewelry and Things.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carmen. His parents, William and Aletha, brother, Floyd Betancourt, daughter, Deborah Lynn Betancourt, daughter-in-law, Maletha McClyman, and grandaughter, Christina Dawn Garrett.
Stanley is survived by his sisters, M. Mabel Pinkston and Elena Virginia Renalds; children, Robert Betancourt, Roberta Garrett, Linda and Jeff Heiskanen, Betty McClyman, and Robert McClyman; grandchildren, Richard (Crysty) Garrett Michelle (Alan)Clonts, Holly (Todd) Johnston, and Matt Heiskanen; great grandchildren, Parker (Julia), Jackson, Caroline, Blake, Madilyn, Natalie, Brent, William, Samantha, Aubree, and Rylee.
In lieu of flowers, Stanley would appreciate donations made to Cumberland County Animal Rescue, where he received his best friend, Duke.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, from 9 to10 am at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the Jernigan-Warren Chapel. Burial will follow at 11 am at Lafayette Memorial Park on Ramsey St.
