Sylvia (Davis) Edwards

Sylvia Davis Edwards, 85, of Fayetteville died peacefully at Chapel Hill Hospital on Saturday, November 8, 2025

Sylvia was born in Fayetteville, NC in 1940 to John and Ada Davis. She married James E. Edwards on July 21, 1959

A dedicated employee of Belk department store where she was an award winning salesperson where she would go on to retire.

Sylvia was a member of Stedman Church of God of Prophecy. She was also a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose where she enjoyed playing darts and bingo. She loved socializing with everyone that she knew.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James, siblings, Carol Lecuyer, Gene Davis, Johnnie Davis, Jerry Davis, and her daughter, Regina Tyler. She is survived by her loving companion, Henry Mincey; daughter, Angela Renee Boyer(Jeff), son, James E. Edwards II; Grandchildren, Amber Tyler, Amanda Perez(Miguel), Olivia Caudle, Michael Pittman(Kate), Faith Edwards, and Grayson Edwards. She has 14 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren, brother, Sherman Davis (Patty); and sister, Kathy Jones (JB).

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 15, 2025 from 12 pm to 1:30 pm at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.  Funeral services will follow at 1:30 pm in the Jernigan-Warren Chapel.  Burial will follow at Cumberland Cemetery on Bingham Dr.
