Tammy Nichols Obituary

Tammy Suzette Nichols, 56 of Fayetteville passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2020.

Tammy S. Nichols a.k.a. Dawn Marie, born March 22, 1964, in Fayetteville, NC to James H. and Frances J. Nichols.

Through out her life she was a skilled ball room dancer, an accomplished bowler and provided meaningful volunteer services for several nonprofit organizations in Cumberland County. She loved to travel. It didn't matter where or when, she was always ready to go. Her favorite recording artist was Elvis and had in fact visited Graceland, much to her delight, as a child with her parents.

She is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and numerous aunts and uncles who loved her dearly.

Those left to share the love and sweet memories that will always be in our hearts are her sisters, Virginia Ryan (Richard Dudenhoeffer) and Nancy Dann (Charles). Her nephews, Bernard Ryan (Jen) and Aaron Ryan (Ai). Her nieces, Amy Brewer and Jennifer Barnett (Paul). Six great nephews, Jake, Nick and Avery Ryan, Brandon and Caston Granger and Eli Foster. Four great nieces, Callie and Alyssa Ryan, Huntley Brewer and Emily Foster and several cousins.
Other very special people in her life were her beloved caregivers, long term aides and friends Ann and Joe Maitland, Lisa, Billy Joe and family; Ely and Eddie Aponte and family; Miss Mary and Miss Regina.

Her family extends many heartfelt thanks to the agency professionals who have worked through the years making sure Dawn Marie had as many opportunities as possible that enabled her to live to her full potential.  They are; Debra Kinney of Alliance Behavioral Health,  Jessica Owens of ACI and Betsy Torsell and Nathan Williams of Service Source, Cape Center Medicine General Practice.
Additional thanks to Liberty Hospice and Home Care for providing medical, spiritual and comfort care at her final home.
And Tinkerbell, a wee kitten, who arrived shortly after she did and who claimed Dawn Marie as "her person" but who brought us all love, tenderness and comfort.

Care and arrangements have been entrusted to Jernigan & Warren Funeral Home, Fayetteville, NC.

A graveside service is 11am on Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2020 at Cumberland Memorial Gardens in Fayetteville, NC with Chaplain Sam Garris officiating.
