Ursula Dennis FAYETTEVILLE – Ursula Dennis, 90, went home to be with the Lord on August 30, 2021. Ms. Dennis was born to the late Rudolph and Ida Ahner of Germany. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bobbie Dennis and son-in-law William Terry Lee. Ms. Dennis is survived by her daughters: Sandy Regal (Bill), Linda Lee and Brenda Dempsay (Jim) and her son Michael (Carolyn). She is also survived by seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Ms. Dennis grew up in Eastern Germany and immigrated to the United States in November 1954. She became a US Citizen in August 17, 1956. She was a long-standing member of Lyon Memorial Methodist Church until its’ resolve. Then, she attended Snyder Memorial Baptist Church and was active in her Sunday School Class. She was a graduate of Fayetteville Technical Institute in 1978 with an Associates Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant. Ms. Dennis worked as a Physical Therapist Assistant with VA Hospital, Manor Care Nursing Home, Home Health in Fayetteville, and Hoke County School System. She retired in 1996 but continued to work as needed with the children in the Hoke County School System until she was 72 years young. She actively volunteered with many organizations helping and caring for the elderly as well as young children. • Candy Striper with Womack Army Hospital and Dental Clinic in Fort Bragg • VA Hospital Volunteer – to aid in patients care to include feeding, grooming, reading to them and just being their friend. • Margaret Willis Elementary School – to help with the children’s reading program, assisted in the library and lunchroom as needed • Snyder Memorial Baptist Church Children’s Day Care & MOPS Program • Linus Foundation at Memorial Mission Hospital for Children – made blankets Ms. Dennis enjoyed her garden, working on stain glass, basket weaving and painting when she had the time.
A visitation will be held from 2:00pm to 2:45 pm prior to the service. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm at Snyder Memorial Baptist Church in the Chapel on Saturday, September 11, 2021.
