Warren Rudolph Peele, Jr., 71, was born on July 24, 1952, in Fayetteville, NC to the late Warren Rudolph Peele, Sr. and Frances Herndon Peele. Warren passed away on June 5, 2024, at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. Warren was also preceded in death by his grandchildren Harper and Mason Peele.
Warren attended Terry Sanford High School and received his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He was an avid supporter of the Tar Heels. Warren was a lifelong baseball fan and loved the New York Yankees. He worked and retired in the sporting goods business. Warren loved his family and friends dearly and never met a stranger no matter where he went.
Warren is survived by his wife, Jackie Peele; his sons, Eric Peele and his wife Valerie; Alan Peele and his wife Kristen; daughter Sarah Lupo and her husband Jonathan; grandchildren, Aubrey Peele; Ella and Addison Peele; and Dallas, Carter, and Ava Lupo; his brother Murphy Peele and his wife Donna; his sister Janet Crumpler and her husband Paul; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Warren was known to many as Doc, but his favorite name was Grandpa. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 10, 2024, at 1:00 PM at The Village Baptist Church with Reverend Nick Smith officiating. The family will receive friends at The Village Baptist Church prior to the funeral at 11:30 AM. Burial will follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens.
