William Roland Freeman, 86, of Fayetteville passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2022.
Roland was born on June 21, 1936, in Macomb, Mississippi to the late Aaron Audise Freeman and Vermell Gill Freeman. He retired from the U.S. Army after 30 years of service where he was a Construction Engineer. He was a master carpenter.
He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend to all who knew him. He was a wonderful storyteller of life and his military experiences. He loved riding motorcycles and listening to country music. He loved talking to anyone and never met a stranger.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Jernigan-Warren Chapel. Burial will follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens with Military Honors. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. on Friday, October 21, 2022, at Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home.
Roland was preceded in death by his sisters, Marion Ivy and Margaret Koontz.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Delinda Freeman; children, Bonnie Irving, Wayne Freeman, Charles Freeman and David Freeman; sister, Louise Bush; brother, Edward Freeman; grandchildren, David Irving and wife Hannah, Joshua Irving and wife Jenah, William Freeman, Andrew Zielinski and wife Wendy, Jay Isham and Connor Freeman and 10 great grandchildren.
