William Arthur Patterson

William Arthur Patterson, 96, of Fayetteville passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Carolina Inn.

William was born on December 21, 1926, in Middlesboro, Kentucky to the late Arthur Neal Patterson and Sarah Ayers Patterson. He retired from the U.S. Army after 22 years of service. He later retired from Kelly Tire after 22 years. He was an avid wrestling fan.

The family will receive friends from 11a.m. to 11:45 a.m. prior to the Funeral service on Friday, March 24, 2023, at 12 noon at Village Baptist Church with Rev. Nick Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Lafayette Memorial Park with Military Honors.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Maggie Patterson; son, Ronald Patterson, and sister, Helen Brooks.

William is survived by his sons, William “Bill” Patterson, Jr. and wife Teresa,  Larry Patterson and wife Beth; daughters, Linda French and husband Charles, Elizabeth Bowden and husband Bill; grandchildren, Amanda, Laura, Richard, Kevin, Jennifer, Johnny, and Kindolyn; 10 great grandchildren.
