William Louis Shipley

William Louis Shipley, 91, of Fayetteville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at the Veterans Hospital, with his daughter by his side.

William was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on August 31, 1934, to the late William A. Shipley and Ruth Devaux Shipley. He proudly served his country for 26 years in the United States Air Force, retiring as a flight engineer. His dedication, service, and love for aviation were matched only by his devotion to his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Laura Shipley; daughter, Kimberly Shipley; and sisters, Irene Colwell and Ida Shipley.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery Chapel.
