Willie M. Gregory, Jr.

Willie  "Billy" Gregory, Jr., 85, of Eastover passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at his residence, surrounded by his family. 

Born in Erwin, North Carolina in 1939, Billy graduated from Erwin High School in 1957.  Billy served in the United States Air Force from 1957-1961 as a firefighter.  He retired from Pope Air Force Base Crash and Rescue Fire Department after 30 years as an Assistant Fire Chief.  He was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church for 60 years. 

Billy was the beloved husband of 66 years to Margaret Ann Johnson Gregory; loving father of Barry (Dee) Gregory, Scott (Leigh) Gregory, Sean (Kelly) Gregory;  Proud (Papa) grandfather of Brett (Stephanie) Gregory, Samantha (Christopher) Zinicola, Amy (Kiyonte) Fennell, Grace Gregory, Ashleigh Gregory, Johnathan Gregory, Geran Everhart, Bella Palmer and Gabby Palmer; Proud (PaPa) great grandfather of Greyson, Lachlan, Elijah, Kamiya, Ella, Kj, and Carson. He is also survived by cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Willie (Pauline) Gregory and grandson, Dane Everhart.    

The family will receive friends from 10 am to 11:30 am on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at Lebanon Baptist Church.  A funeral service will follow at 11:30 am in the sanctuary with Air Force Honors. Private committal will follow in the church cemetery.
