Wilma Louise Ellis Johnson, 93, of Fayetteville passed away on Friday, May 10, 2024, at Carolina Rehabilitation of Fayetteville.
Louise was born on December 14, 1930, in Jefferson County to the late George Ellis and Alberta Hickman Ellis. She was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
During her time in the Army, Lousie served as a medical technician. She was a member of the Main Post Chapel where she enjoyed singing in the choir for 40 years and a former singer with the Stars and Stripes Singers. She them moved her membership to Camp Ground United Methodist Church where she served until her passing.
Louise was a member of the Fayetteville Chapter #334 Eastern Star and a member of the Road Runners.
A funeral service will be held Friday, May 17, 2024, at 2 p.m. at Jernigan-Warren Chapel. Burial will follow in Cumberland Memorial Gardens with military honors. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Elton Johnson and her daughter, Wilma Jean Johnson.
She is survived by her son, Mike S. Johnson and his significant other of 25 years June Camber, grandchildren, William “Billy” Strathern, Jason Strathern, Curtis Strathern, and Crystal Watkins; and her fur baby, Mitzi
